Rumpelstiltskin

Episode 33: Welcome, and thank you for listening to us through 32 episodes with us. Here is a classic for you. Although there are a few twists that I do not remember from my childhood telling of "Rumpelstiltskin." (23 minutes)

Rumpelstilzchen in German means literally "little rattle stilt." A stilt is a post or pole that provides support for a structure. A rumpelstilt or rumpelstilz was a type of goblin, also called a pophart or poppart, that made noises by rattling posts and rapping on planks. The meaning resembles rumpelgeist ("rattle ghost") or poltergeist, a mischievous spirit that clatters and moves household objects.

Explain the magical powers that Rumpelstiltskin possesses.
