A Paw-sitively Charming Review

In the world of board games, where strategy and skill often take center stage, "Cat Crimes" saunters in and uses none of those. This single-player game gives you clues to deduce and find the logical answer. With its playful premise and feline-inspired twists, this delightful game is a paw-some addition to your board game collection.

Gameplay:

You have been invited to pet sit not one but six cats for your neighbor. You imagine a relaxing weekend of cuddles and purrs, so you expect. But to your dismay, you find broken coffee cups, spilled flower pots, and a missing bird! You must use your logical deduction skill to name the culpable cat.

The game has 40 challenge cards ranging from beginner, intermediate, advanced, and expert. I started with a beginner and worked my way through it.

Each challenge card denotes the cat crime committed. Place the corresponding crime token over its matching image on the rug (game board). Then, carefully read the clues to determine each cat's placement around the rug. Once you have placed all the cats around the rug, the cat sitting in front of the crime token is your guilty feline.

Turn the challenge card over to discover if you are correct. If all the cats are in the right place- You Win!

Components:

As you open the box, you're greeted by charming cat characters, each with a unique personality described in the rule book. From the sophisticated Duchess to the skittish Ginger, these adorable suspects add a playful flair to the game.

With its colorful artwork and whimsical design, every component of "Cat Crimes" exudes a paw-some charm that cat lovers and board game enthusiasts alike will appreciate.

The box also houses a game tray with a spot for every piece.

Our Experience:

My overly bright daughter was able to complete all 40 scenarios within an hour, only failing two. On the other hand, I must not have been that clever because I had failed many more. The number of which I will never disclose.

This made sense because I have a mechanical mind, which is good for creating. My daughter has a very logical, observant mind. She loves mysteries and puzzles. You will enjoy this game if your mind is like my daughter's.

The replay value is low. As I said earlier, my daughter finished all 40 scenarios of this single-player game in an hour. When asked if she would play this again in the future, she said, "Probably not." You could put it on the shelf for a year and then replay it, but would it be worth the shelf space? I propose you play it and then share it with a friend.

"Cat Crimes" is a game that will delight cat lovers and puzzle enthusiasts alike—yet only for a short time. So, if you fit one or both of these categories, grab your detective hat and prepare to embark on a whimsical journey filled with purr-plexing mysteries and feline fun.
